Darlene A. Scheffler, 81, Edgar, died Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Colonial
Manor Nursing Home, Wausau.
She was born July 4, 1933 in Abbotsford, daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Zahorka)
Haderlein. On July 3, 1954 she married Myron "Mike" Scheffler in Milan. He
survives.
Darlene worked as a special education teacher in the Wausau, Athens and Edgar
School Districts for over 37 years. She enjoyed baking, canning, playing poker
and reading. Above all she cherished her time spent with her children,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Myron "Mike" Scheffler, Edgar; children, Gary
Scheffler, Edgar, Janet (Al) Alama, Zimmerman, Minnesota, Vicki (Kurt) Chroust,
Apple Valley, Minnesota; grandchildren, Miranda (Steve) Diehn, Amanda (Brian)
Frazier, Robert (Jodi) Alama, Michael (Cola) Alama, Dr. Matthew Chroust and
Daniel Chroust; great-grandchildren, Kaden and Conner Frazier, Brandon Watt,
Emily, Ella and Ethan Alama; brother, Kenneth (Lois) Haderlein, many other
relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2014 at St. John Lutheran
ELCA Church, W1000 County Road N, Edgar. Rev. Gail Sowell will officiate. Burial
will be in the Edgar Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the
time of services all at the church.
