Erickson, William (14 JAN 1885 – 27 JAN 1969)
William Erickson, 84, passed away suddenly Monday morning, January 27, 1969, at
the Winnebago Hospital, where he had been a patient since December 11, 1968,
following a lingering illness. He was born January 14, 1885 in the town of
Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), near Thorp. Mr. Erickson moved to the town of Aurora
with his parents when a small boy, where he had resided until he entered the
hospital. On December 22, 1915 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Halverson at
Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Stanley.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Ley (Wilma) Almberg, Yellow River; Mrs.
Elwood (Eloise) Wiskow, Appleton; and Miss Thelma Erickson, Wauwatosa; one
half-sister, Mrs. Magnus Romfoe. Also he is survived by five grandchildren and
four nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, October 26, 1968;
and one daughter, Dorothy, in 1937.
Funeral services were held at St. John's Lutheran Church, Yellow River, on
Thursday, January 30 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Delwayne Hohn officiating. Interment
was made in the family lot in St. John's Cemetery.
