Opelt, Lori Jayne (Marriage – 20 July 1974)
Miss Lori Jayne Opelt became the bride of Darwin Douglas Anding in a 2 p.m.
ceremony performed Satruday, July 20, at the Neillsville United Church of Christ
by the Rev. Gary Clark. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Opelt, Rt. 3, Neillsville,
presented their daughter in marriage to the son of mrs. George Anding, also of
Rt. 3 Neillsville.
A Venise lace trim adorned the bridal gown, styled with a bodice high-lighted by
a sheer lace and high neckline. The full train fell smoothly from the empire
waistline into a cathedral-length train. To complement her gown, the bride wore
a venise lace Camelot headpiece with a veil of bridal illusion. A cascade of
pink roses, lavender daisies, stephanotis, blue carnations, purple statice and
baby’s breath completed her ensemble.
Bridal attendants included Linda Ormond as maid of honor and Linda Anding, Barb
Harder of South Beloit, Il., Ruth Anding, Rosemary Opelt, and Diane Reed of
Clear Lake as bridesmaids. Their blue floral halter gowns with matching jackets
featured high necklines and were complimented by picture hats and arrangements
of blue glamelia.
Joe Schlitz, of Ft. Bragg, N.C., served as bestman. Groomsmen were Daryl Anding
of Milwaukee, Steve Knoop, David Anding, Steve Buchholz, and Roger Carl. Guests
were seated by Curtis Anding, Mark Hediger, and Roger Schiltz.
Lucretia Hediger and Loleta Hediger were candle-lighters.
Acting as flower girls were Susy Opelt and Michelle Harder.
Special music included the selections “Wedding Song,” “O Perfect Love,” and “The
Lord’s Prayer.”
A wedding supper at Bali Hai Supper Club, and a reception at the home of the
bride’s parents were followed, by a dance at the Silver Dome Ballroom.
The bride was honored at pre-nuptial showers given by Rosemary Opelt and Linda
Ormond and by JoAnn Voss and Joan Harder.
A 1973 graduate of Neillsville High School and a 1974 graduate of City College
of Cosmetology, Eau Claire, the new Mrs. Anding is employed at a Neillsville
beauty salon. Her husband graduated from Neillsville High School in 1970 and is
also employed locally.
They will make their home on Rt. 3 Neillsville.
