Meyer, Albert H. (9 OCT 1904 - 23 DEC 1991)
Albert H. Meyer, 87, of Medford, died Monday morning at the home of his daughter
and son-in-law, Betty and Lowell Clarke, in the Town of Grover.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, at St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church in Medford with Rev. Warren Behling. Burial will be in the Perkinstown
Community Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, at the Hemer
Funeral Home in Medford, and Thursday at the church from 8:30 a.m. until
services at 10:30 a.m.
He was born October 9, 1904, in Millston to the late William and Bertha (Wolfe)
Meyer, and attended Millston area schools. He also attended technical school in
Kansas City, Kan., and was trained as an auto mechanic.
Mr. Meyer married Iola Westrich on February 4, 1931, in Waukegan, Ill.
In his early years Mr. Meyer was employed at the Perkinstown CCC Camp. He later
began employment as an auto mechanic with Frischman Motors in Medford. In 1936
he began working as a mechanic for Gelhaus & Brost Chevrolet in Medford,
retiring in 1966. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Medford.
Surviving is his wife; two daughter, Betty, Mrs. Lowell Clarke, Town of Grover,
and Patricia, Mrs. Clement Johnson, Medford; three sons, Ronald (Olga), Beloit,
Harvey (Janice), Medford and Gerald (Nancy), Sharon; 16 grandchildren and 18
great-grandchildren; a brother, Herman (Hazel), Medford; and a sister, Mrs.
Frieda Alvard, Beloit.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Grandsons will
serve as pallbearers.
