Duesing, Imelda M. (Henrichs) (5 MAY 1926 - 23 JAN 2017)
Imelda M. Duesing, age 90, of Lac du Flambeau, passed away on Monday, Jan. 23 at
Seasons of Life Hospice House in Woodruff.
She was born on May 5, 1926 in Medford, the daughter of Hubert and Mary (Werner)
Henrichs.
Imelda married Melvin Duesing on September 17, 1947 in Milwaukee. They resided
in Mequon until 1972. In 1964, Imelda and Melvin purchased Buckskin Lake Resort
and in 1972 they came to settle in the Northwoods and operate the resort until
their retirement in 1992, where they continued to reside in the area. Melda was
involved in the community with the Northwoods Quilters, HYMC Ladies Auxiliary;
she was a charter member of the Ladies Bo-Di-Lac Fire Department Auxiliary and
the Forest Riders Snowmobile Club. She was also involved with the Ladies Guild
at Rock of Ages Church.
Melda is preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers, Nickolas
and Edward.
She is survived by her two daughters, Janet (Neil) Hoffman and Virginia
(Jeffrey) Martin; grandchildren, Dayna (Patrick) Buckley, Andrea (Tim) West and
Ryan (Allison) Martin; great-grandchildren, Harper West and Myles, Mack and
Brooke Buckley; brothers and sisters, Loretta Fischer, Norbert (Rose) Henrichs,
James (Mary) Henrichs, Mary Ann Henrichs, Peter (Esther) Henrichs, Raymond (Mary
“Jo”) Henrichs, Rita (Harold) Rudolph, Harold (Carol) Henrichs, David (Lorraine)
Henrichs, Carol (Al) Buenning and Karen (James) Bain.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date at Rock of Ages Lutheran
Church in Minocqua.
