Verkuilen, Susan E. (16 FEB 1969)

St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Thorp, was the scene for the marriage of Susan Ellen Verkuilen and James David Beaudette on Saturday, February 16th, 1969. Rev. Francis Brockman performed the 11:30 a.m. marriage ceremony, and Sister Arlene played while the children's choir sang.

Parents of the couple are Mrs. Walter Verkuilen and the late Mr. Verkuilen of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Mr. and Mrs. David Beaudette, St. Paul, Minnesota.

The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Marvin Verkuilen, chose a floor length ivory satin gown trimmed with lace, designed and made by Mrs. John Hmielak, Thorp. Her headpiece was a Camelot cap with floor length, ivory silk illusion veil, and she carried flowers of Calla lilies.

Mrs. Merlin Nevala was her sister's matron of honor, and bridesmaids were: Miss Sharon Sneen, Miss Patricia Hmielak and Miss Joanne Beaudette. They all wore floor length gowns of pink chiffon over linen trimmed with pink satin. They wore pink satin bows with floor length veils and each carried a bouquet of pink roses and purple stock.

James Schubert served as best man, and groomsmen were Fulton Fahrner, Ray Mertens and John Verkuilen. Ushers were Brian Dobi, Dale Kaiser and Gregory Bauloke.

A dinner and reception followed the ceremony at the American Legion Hall, Thorp.

The bride, a 1966 graduate of Eau Claire State University, is employed at the St. Paul Public Schools. The groom is a 1967 graduate of St. John's University, Collegeville, Minn., and is department manager of Sears, Roebuck and Co.

They will make their home at 2908 Northway Dr., Minneapolis, Minn.
