Pletka, Marie (4 APR 1888 – 09 MAR 1969)
Mrs. Marie Pletka, 80, of rt. 2, town of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), died at
Victory Memorial Hospital on Sunday.
She was born in Czechoslovakia on April 4, 1888. Mrs. Pletka came to the United
States when a young girl. On January 29, 1911 she married John Pletka in
Chicago. In March of 1918 they moved to the town of Thorp, where they farmed for
many years. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America for over 50
years.
Survivors are her husband; three sons, John Jr. and Joseph, both of rt. 2,
Thorp, and Charles, Chicago; one daughter, Mrs. Walter Horounziak, rt. 2, Thorp;
one brother, Joseph Trubec, Chicago; eight grandchildren, twenty-nine
great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Plombon Funeral Home,
Stanley, with Father Rudolph Urbic officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's
Junction Cemetery.
