Thomsen, Ruth E. (Singleton) (4 APR 1918 - 24 NOV 2006)
Ruth E. Thomsen, 88, formerly of the town of Bern, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2006,
at Colonial Center Nursing & Rehabilitation, Colby.
Ruth was born April 4, 1918, to George Elijah Singleton and Ida Bell Jones in
Chippewa County.
She married Cornie E. Smith on June 17, 1939. He preceded her in death in 1948.
Her second marriage was April 14, 1951, to Lawrence H. Piller. He died in 1955.
The last marriage was on Feb. 17, 1960, to Clarence J. Thomsen who died in 1979.
She is survived by children, Irene (Bob) Gruny, Medford, Patricia (Roderick)
Skindrud, Mt. Horeb, Beverly (Thomas) Boor, Deer Creek, Barbara (John)
Kraegenbrink, Gleason, Edward (Ann) Smith, Shell Lake, and Carl (Robin) Thomsen,
Stetsonville; 15 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents; three sisters; and eight brothers.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Zion Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Stetsonville. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
