Baughman, Arline Fern (Steevens) (1919* - 21 JAN 2017)
Arline Fern (Steevens) Baughman, 98, of Sheldon passed away on Jan. 21, 2017 at
Wissota Place in Chippewa Falls.
Arline was born to Frank and Martha (Kastner) Steevens in Stetsonville. She
began her teaching career at Wildwood School in Westboro. She moved to the
Sheldon area to teach school at the Baughman School in McKinley Township in
Taylor County in the fall of 1939.
It was there she met Richard Harold Baughman. They were married in 1940. She
continued to teach while Harold served in the military and later received her
teaching degree from Taylor County Teacher’s College. Arline taught elementary
children, including her grandchildren, throughout the Flambeau School District
for about 20 years. Arline was a lifelong member of the Sheldon Church of
Christ.
Arline is survived by her husband of 76 years, Richard Harold; her children,
Keith (Shirley), Lynette (Bryce), Larine (Dan), Brenda (Jerry), Kristi (Rod);
her daughter-in-law, Janet; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren
and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kevin; three sisters, Esther,
Hilda and Bernice and two brothers, Clifford and Harold.
Memorial services will be held at the Sheldon Church of Christ on Feb. 26 at 3
p.m.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of gifts
or flowers, the family requests memorials go to the Sheldon Church of Christ.
