Miss Gloria E. Ciokiewicz, became the bride of Harry F. Kubera, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kubera in a double ring ceremony performed by Rev. Father William Matzek on Saturday, March 1, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Hedwig’s Chapel. The bride’s sisters, Arlene and Sharon Ciokiewicz, participated in Mass by bringing the offertory gifts to the bride and groom, and the bride’s brother Daniel served as a altar boy for the Mass.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, chose a floor length empire styled bridal gown of rose point lace. A flattering ruffle lace framed the long sleeves and the high neckline. She carried white chrysanthemums and white roses.

Miss Barbara Bourget, a friend of the bride of Boyd, was maid of honor, wearing a floor length gown fashioned with an off white crepe shirt and a green lace bodice styled with elbow length sleeves. She carried yellow chrysanthemums and wore a green pillbox with bouffant veil.

Glen Vetterkind, a friend of the groom of Thorp, attended as best man. Ushers were: Robert and Donald Rogalski, uncles of the bride.

A dinner and reception for 150 guests were held at the Legion Hall in Thorp. Mike Kryzanski and his orchestra played for the dance, with Jerry Micke leading the grand march.

The bride’s mother wore an elegant brown and white double knit A-line dress and the groom’s mother wore a pretty orchid suit and each wore a corsage of yellow and white mums.

The bride, a graduate of Thorp High School, was employed as a keypunch verifier with Thorp Finance. The groom attended Thorp High School and is employed as a truck driver for Mirman’s Furniture. The new couple will make their home in Wausau.
