Koziol, Apolonia (12 JUN 1892 – 11 MAR 1969)
Mrs. Apolonia Koziol, 76, of Sheldon, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 1969 at
St. Mary’s Hospital, after a short illness.
Funeral services were held on Friday, March 14 at St. John’s Catholic Church,
Sheldon. Rev. Casimir Paul officiated at the eleven a.m. service, with burial
being made in the Wood Lawn Cemetery, Sheldon.
Apolonia Wojcik was born June 12, 1892, in Poland. She came to the states in
1911, settling in Chicago. In 1919 they moved to the Sheldon area, where they
were engaged in farming. She was married on January 12, 1912 at Chicago to Jacob
Koziol, who preceded her in death May 17, 1966.
Surviving are four sons, Joe of Chicago, Frank and John of Sheldon, Edward of
Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; six daughters, Anna Sterba of Sheldon, Frances Wojtyna of
Conrath, Mrs. Helen Kopacz of Greenwood, Mrs. Nellie Kolar of Sheldon, Mrs.
Jeanette Van Ert of Thorp, Mrs. Victoria Bergemann of St. Paul, Minn.; one
brother, Joseph; two sisters, Sophia and Katherine in Poland; 27 grandchildren
and 7 great-grandchildren.
