Deutschlander, John (10 DEC 1873 – 1 APR 1969)
John Deutschlander, 95, passed away at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley on
Tuesday, April 1st, 1969. Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran
Church, Thorp, on Thursday, April 3, 1969. Rev. Robert Olson officiated at the
1:30 p.m. service, with burial being made in the East Thorp Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons of the decease: Edward Deutschlander, John
Deutschlander and James Slovacek, all of Chicago, Jerry Kudingo, Leslie
Deutschlander and Roger Deutschlander, all of Thorp.
Mr. Deutschlander was born December 10, 1873. He came to the states in 1888,
settling in Shamokin, Penn., until 1893, when he came to the Thorp (Clark Co.,
Wis.) area, where he has since resided. On April 5, 1903 he was untied in
marriage to Valeria Melanczuk.
Surviving are his wife Valeria; three sons, Emil, Edward and Henry, all of
Thorp; three daughters, (Emily) Mrs. Leon Kudingo of Thorp, Mrs. Alma Slovacek
and Miss Louise Deutschlander, both of Chicago; other grandchildren surviving,
besides the pallbearers, are: Marianne DeWulf, Bensenville, Ill., Anieda Krause,
Tacoma, Wash.., Carol Symbol, St. Paul, Minn., Jacqueline Perdue (?), Whittier,
