Dassow, Mary Ann (Drager) (5 DEC 1933 - 23 SEP 2013)
Mary Ann Dassow, 79, of W3889 County Road M, Medford, a township of Greenwood
resident, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2913, at St. Joseph’s Hospital,
Marshfield, where she had been a patient for the past 11 days.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 27 at the Trinity
Lutheran Church, Whittlesey, with Rev. Randal Jeppesen officiating. Interment
will be at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Whittlesey.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jodi, Richard, Jason, Justin, Cody & Dakota
Dassow and Travis Bube.
Visitation will be held at 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, September 26 at the
Hemer Funeral Home, Medford and also from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services
at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 27 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Whittlesey.
Mary was born on December 5, 1933, in the Town of Little Black, to Herman and
Lillie (Messmann) Drager. She attended Stetsonville area elementary school and
Medford High School.
On January 16, 1954, in Stetsonville, she was married to Alvin B. Dassow Sr. He
preceded her in death on October 27, 2012.
Mary Ann was a homemaker for 45 years and started working at Black River
Industries in 1999 for 9 years. She enjoyed her grandchildren, cooking and
gardening. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Whittlesey.
She is survived by her children, Marvin (Joleen) Dassow of the town of Medford;
George Dassow of the town of Hammel; Randy (Kathy) Dassow of the town of
Greenwood; Brian Dassow of the town of Hammel; Steve Dassow of the town of Rib
Lake; Alvin Jr. (Annette) Dassow of Westboro; Kathy (Mark) Kind of Rib Lake; 15
Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren.
Mary Ann is also survived by siblings, Arthur (Dorothea Foster) Drager of
Medford; Caroline Ludwig and Delores Baumann both of Dorchester.
She is predeceased by her husband Alvin, her parents Herman and Lillie (Messmann)
Drager, siblings, Richard, Herman, Gustav and Louis Drager; and Freida Haig,
Gladys Enzi, Lillian Johnson, Bertha and Elizabeth Drager.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the family for
a future designation.
