Mueller, Larry R. (6 APR 1936 - 25 AUG 2012)
Larry R. Mueller of Medford, age 76, passed away on Saturday August 25, 2012
while at home with his family.
The oldest son of Walter and Louise (Steen) Mueller, he was born on April 6,
1936 in the Town of Browning. He resided there all of his life, attending the
Frey school and graduating from Medford High School, and was a lifelong member
of Trinity Lutheran Church in Whittlesey.
He served as a Staff Sergeant for the National Guard Red Arrow Division and was
stationed in Fort Lewis during the Cuban missile crisis. Having been raised on
the family farm, he began operating his own dairy at the age of 17, continuing
until 2011. Larry was a lifelong logger and a builder for Stratford Homes for 25
years. Larry had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying deer hunting, fishing, and
watching things grow.
Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Jane (Radue) Mueller of
Medford. They were married on June 27, 1959 at Chili, WI.
His siblings are Linda Johnson of Scandinavia, Neal (Marilyn) of Medford,
Russell of Neenah, and Sharon (James) Graun of Medford. His children are Allan
(Joyce) of Medford, Dave (Colleen) of Stevens Point, and John (Angela) of
Medford. There are five grandchildren, Adam (Amanda), Sarah (Hunter Buehler),
Alexandria, Chelsea, and Cody.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Diane in
1961.
Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Whittlesey at 11:00 AM
on Wednesday, August 29 with Rev. Andrew Alberts officiating.
Visitation will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church from 4-7 PM on Tuesday,
August 28 and also from 10 AM until the time of services on Wednesday. Burial
will take place at Trinity Church Cemetery with military rites performed by the
Medford Military Honors Team. Larry’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
