Merrill, Theresa Bernadette (15 JUL 1931 - 2 FEB 2017)

Theresa Bernadette Merrill, 85, Kennan, died at her home on Thursday, February 2, while under the care of her family and Flambeau Home Health and Hospice.

She was born on July 15, 1931, in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. She was married to Richard Raymond Merrill in Fort William, Ontario, Canada, on December 14, 1950. She was a member of Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church of Catawba.

In her free time she enjoyed garage sailing, nature, especially wild flowers, and was an avid rock hound.

She is survived by eleven of her thirteen children, Joan (Joe) Steinke, Mission Viejo, CA, Renae (Marc) Campbell, Apple Valley, CA, Richard Merrill II, Kennan, Robert (Lynn) Merrill, Kennan, Gayl (Duke) Esch, Salem, OR, John (Susan) Merrill, Orlando, FL, Mary Merrill, Enumclaw, WA, Barbara (Aaron) Idouchi, Apple Valley, CA, Linda Merrill, Phillips, Brenda Merrill (Chris Athaide), Aliso Viejo, CA, and Bradley Merrill, Corvallis, OR; by 51 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; by one brother, John (Carmel) Sajna, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, on December 11, 2008; and is also preceded in death by two sons, Lawrence James and Walter Sylvester; and by three sisters, Anne Sajna, Mary Sajna, and Helen Claude.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 8, at Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Catawba with Father Gerald Hagen celebrating the Funeral Mass. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. Inurnment will be in the Saint Patrick Cemetery in Phillips.
