Hempelman, Karen (3 MAY 1969)

Karen Hempelman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hempelman, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Jerome Marquardt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Marquardt, Cascade, Wis., on Saturday, May 3rd, 1969, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Thorp. Rev. Robert Olson performed the 2:30 double ring marriage ceremony.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white satin gown with chiffon overskirt, lace appliques were on the bodice and full length train. Pearls and sequins headpiece held her should length veil and she carried a bouquet of white roses with ivy.

Bonnie Bando, friend of the bride, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Karen Marquardt, sister-in-law of the groom, and Beverly Neisius, sister of the bride. They wore lace long sleeved bodice and chiffon over satin dresses in blue, and carried boqueuts of white daisies with ferns.

Patsy Johnson, niece of the groom, was flower girl, wearing address similar to the bride's. Ring bearer was Michael Hempelman, nephew of the bride.

Fred Marquardt was his brother's best man, and ushers were Bob Halida, cousin of the bride, and Jim Johnson, brother-in-law of the groom.

A supper and reception for 300 guests were held at St. Hedwig's Quonset.

The mothers wore dresses in powder blue sheath with matching oat and white accessories. Each wore a corsage of white carnations.

The bride, an elementary 3rd grade teacher at Ostberg Elementary, attended Thorp High School T.C.T. Colldge at Medford. The groom attended Cascade High and is a beef farmer , and is employed by Implment Co., Cascade.

After a wedding trip to Michigan and Canada, they will make their home at RR 1, Cascade.
