The 1969 Spring Commencement of Wisconsin State University, Eau Claire will take
place on Saturday, May 31, 1969, at 10 o'clock in the morning at the University
Arena (formerly fieldhouse). Receiving degrees are 545 persons, 521 with the
Bachelor's degree, and 24 with the Master's degree. Of the Bachelor's degree
recipients, 178 are in Arts and Science, 67 in Business, 220 in Education, 9 in
Music Education, and 49 in Nursing. Three are receiving the Master of Arts in
Teaching, and 31 the Master of Science in Teaching.
Immediately following the Commencement, graduates, their relatives and friends,
will be guests of the President and Faculty at a reception in the Southwoods
Room of the W.R. Davies University Center.
The following persons from Thorp will receive degrees;
- Marcelene Marie Badzinski, Bachelor of Arts, Senior High School Education,
English major.
- Terrance Michael Boardman, Cum Laude, Bachelor of Science, School of Business
Comprehensive, Accounting major.
- Larry Lee Gajda, Bachelor of Science, Senior High School Education, History
major.
- William L. Kowieski, Bachelor of Science, School of Business, Comprehensive
Accounting major.
- George James Possley, Bachelor of Science, Senior High School Education,
Mathematics major.
- Thomas Gerald Tomkowiak, Bachelor of Arts, School of Arts and Sciences,
Journalism major.
In the first of two Commencement ceremonies this year at Wisconsin State
University, River Falls, 526 graduates will be awarded degrees Sunday, May 25,
1969.
Among those receiving degrees at River Falls 91st Commencement will be three
from Thorp:
- John E. Godden, route 1, will receive the Bachelor of Science in Agricultural
Education degree.
- Ann Grajkowski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Grajkowski, will receive the
B.S. in Secondary Education, with a major in Art and a minor in speech.
- George Grajkowski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gradkowski, will receive the B.S.
in Secondary Education, with a major in Biology and a minor in Psychology.
