Rogers, Ernest M. (10 MAR 1894 – 11 MAY 1969)
Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, May 14 at McElravy - Geier
Funeral Home, Ladysmith, for Ernest M. Rogers, 75, Lannon, a former Hannibal
resident, who died Sunday, May 11, 1969 at Menomonee Falls. He had been ill for
three days following a heart attack. Rev. William Hood officiating, and burial
took place in Riverside Cemetery, Ladysmith.
A Soo Line railroad employee for 35 years, Mr. Rogers was born March 10, 1894 at
Christy. He lived at Ladysmith from 1919 to 1959, when he moved to Hannibal,
remaining their until 1966. His marriage to Maude A. Yager took place October
25, 1958, at Hannibal.
Surviving, along with his wife, are eight children, Verland of North Dakota, Ina
Trombley of Apopka, Florida, Olive Jaynes of Orlando, Florida, Zelma Bickler of
Chicago, Bethel Abramson of Richfield, Minn., Ernest G. of Ladysmith, Shirley
Mortenson of Minneapolis, and Brenda Yager of Milwaukee; eleven step-sons and
daughters, 30 grandchildren, 36 step-grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and
several step-great-grandchildren.
