Schmidt, Arthur F. (5 MAY 1908 – 11 MAY 1969)
Arthur Fred Schmidt was born to Fred and Frances Schmidt of Thorp (Clark Co.),
Wisconsin, on May 5, 1908, and passed away at his home in Chisholm, Minnesota on
May 11, 1969, at the age of 61. On November 24, 1931 he was united in marriage
to Margaret Anderson at Becker.
Three children were born to this union. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic
Church at Chisholm.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Margaret; one son, Arthur, of
Rockford, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Etter (Frances), and Mrs. Louis Etter
(Emogene) of Menahga; fourteen grandchildren; four brothers, Ed and Hermiss of
Thorp, Wisconsin, Melvin of Milwaukee Wisconsin and Rueben of Abbotsford,
Wisconsin; tw sisters, Sister Cecelia O.S.F., of Palin Park, Illinois, and Mrs.
George Schmidt (Eleanor) of Thorp, and other relatives and a host of friends.
Wake prayers were held at Rupp Funeral Chapel of Chisholm on May 12, 1969, at
7:30 p.m., with Rev. Father Hadyn officiating. Wake services were also held at
Jarvinnen's Chapel on May 13, 1969, at 8:00 p.m., with Rev. Father Macho
officiating. The new Catholic funeral mass was said by the Rev. Father Macho on
May 14, 1969 at 10:00 a.m. at the Assumption of Our Lady Catholic Church in
Menahga.
The pallbearers were Fred Fuchs, Clarence Johnson, Duane Johnson, Melvin Lund,
Tenho Mattson and Eldor Urdahl. The honorary pallbearers were oivo Carlson, Ed
Schmidt, George Schmidt, Melvin Schmidt, Reuben Schmidt and Hermiss Schmidt.
Interment w was in the Menahga Cemetery.
