Army Specialist Four Charles F. Ehlert, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ehlert,
route 2, Thorp (Clark Co.), Wisconsin, received the Purple Heart May 13, 1969
near Chu Lai, Vietnam.
He received the award for wounds received in action while serving in Vietnam.
Spec. 4 Ehlert is a combat construction specialist in Company B, 26th Engineer
Battalion of the 198th Infantry Brigade, Americal Division. He entered the army
in May 1968, completed basic training at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, and was
stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri before arriving overseas in October
1968.
