Gregorich, Dorothy T. (30 AUG 1918 – 7 FEB 2017)
Dorothy T. Gregorich, 98, Willard, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, at
Neillsville Care & Rehab in Neillsville. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m.,
on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. Rev. Steve Brice
officiated. Burial followed in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. Her grandchildren
served as pallbearers.
Dorothy Theresa Petkovsek was born on Aug. 30, 1918, in Willard, the youngest of
10 children, to John and Mary (nee Germosek) Petkovsek. She was raised on the
family farm and received her education at North Willard School. After completing
her education, Dorothy stayed at home to help on the farm. In 1941, she moved to
Chicago, where she worked as a plant operations inspector for Western Electric
for five years. Dorothy returned to Willard in December 1946. She married Leo F.
Gregorich on May 17, 1947, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. Dorothy
worked on the farm alongside her husband, Leo, and raised their four sons. They
retired from farming in 1980, and their son, Fred, took over the farm. She was a
member of Holy Family Catholic Church and its PCCW, and was a member of K.S.K.J.
Lodge #136. Dorothy had many interests, but especially loved spending time with
her family, cooking, baking, and watching the Green Bay Packers.
She is survived by three sons: Roger "Bear" (Rhonda) Gregorich of Willard, Roy
(Charlotte) Gregorich of Willard, and Fred (Jill) Gregorich of Willard; seven
grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; and many
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo, on April 28, 2003;
one son, George, on June 16, 1997; six brothers: John, Joseph, Tony, Frank,
Martin and William Petkovsek; and three sisters: Mary Beton, Anna Lasses and
Frances Bruske.
