Neillsville American Legion to Honor Mohr for Military Service

Neillsville American Legion Post 73 is honoring Marvin Mohr for his service to
America.
Marvin Mohr is being honored for his military service by Neillsville American
Legion Post 73. Mohr served in the U. S. Army from 1968 until 1970 and in the
Army Reserve from 1970 until his honorable discharge in 1974. (Contributed

Mohr was born in Neillsville, to Albert and Luella Mohr of R#2 Neillsville.
After grade school, he attended Neillsville High School, graduating in 1967.
Following graduation, he worked for Kurt Marg. He joined the U. S. Army in 1968
and took his basic training at Ft. Gordon, GA
Mohr had advanced individual training at a base in Texas. He was then sent to
Vietnam, where he served 11 months as a rifleman in the Central Highlands area.
He finished his active duty in 1970 at Ft. Hood, TX. He was in the Army Reserve
until his honorable discharge in 1974.
While in the Army Reserve, Mohr worked for Kurt Marg and the Neillsville
Foundry. After six years, he began employment at Nelson Muffler/Cummins until
his retirement in 2010.
Mohr was married to Patricia Perrine in 1970, and she died in 2007. They have
two children, Tracey, and Scott, and four grandchildren, Cody, Dylan, Ashton,
and Amanda.
Mohr relishes time spent with his grandchildren. He also enjoys farming and
hunting.
Mohr has been a member of American Legion Post 73 for 45 years. He has been a
volunteer for many activities and serves in the Color Guard.
