Shermo, Rhonda (5 JUL 1969)

Zion Lutheran Church, Mondovi, was the scene for the candlelight marriage ceremony of Miss Rhonda Shermo and Robert A. Pawlak on Saturday, July 5th, 1969. Rev. Louis Bittner performed the eight p.m. ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence C. Shermo, Eleva, Wis., and Mrs. Bertha Pawlak, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a silk organza and peau d'ange lace gown with pearl accent. Long sleeves and a sweetheart neckline fashioned the fitted bodice. A detachable tubular train with a lace applique fell from the back waist to a graceful sweep. An organza rose cluster with lace leaflet secured the bouffant veil of bridal illusion. She carried a crescent cascade of white gladiolas and better (??) and roses accented with greens.

Miss Joan Knudson was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Mrs. Ardis Preston, sister of the bride, and Miss Eula Jimmernoff. They wore floor length gowns of pink georgette over linen, fashioned with ruffles on the high neckline and long sleeves. Candy pink satin detailed the demi raised waists and covered buttons created interest to the gowns. A rose cluster with leaflets secured their short veils.

Keith Goocharz was best man, and groomsmen were Andrew Pawlak Jr., brother of the groom, and Dennis Thurcks. Ushers were Walter Pawlak and Richard Pederson,

A wedding reception was held in the church basement.

After a wedding trip to North Dakota and Colorado they will make their home at 2716 W. 44th St., Minneapolis, Minn.
