Juzwiak, Betty (19 JUL 1969)

On July 19th, 1969, Rev. Father Bill Matzek celebrated at 10:30 o'clock Nuptial High Mass, and Miss Betty Juzwiak became the bride of Mr. Ronald Szymanski.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Malen Juzwiak, route 2, Thorp (Clark Co.), Wisconsin, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Szymanski, 109 Maple Street, Thorp, Wisconsin.

For this marriage the altar of St. Hedwig's Chapel was decorated with bouquets of gladiolas and carnations. The bride coming down the aisle on the arm of her father wore an exquisite organza gown draped with Venice lace with full bishop sleeves with high neckband. Soft gathers of organza at the demi-raised waist created handsome fullness to the A-line silhouette, a detachable court train fell gracefully to a full sweep.

A Camelot cap of organza and Venice lace secured the lavish floor length cathedral veil.

She carried a bouquet of Amazon orchids and stephanotis centered with a red rose.

Preceding the bride down the aisle were six bridesmaids, ring bearer and flower girl.

The bridesmaid dresses were blue georgette floor length gowns. Blue satin detailed the bishop sleeves and high neckline. A satin panel created back interest to their gowns.

Colonial picture hats and parasols decorated with ivy and stephanotis completed their formal attire.

Maid of honor was Linda Olynek, a cousin of the bride. Other bridesmaids were Beverly Weseman, friend of the bride, Beverly Kundo, cousin of the groom, Sharon Sromek, friend of the bride, Annett Rogalski, cousin of the groom, Marlene Juzwiak, sister of the groom, Liane Pisarek as flower girl, cousin of the bride.

Malen Juzwiak Jr., brother of the bride, was best man. Other attendants were Danny Alger, friend of the groom, Louis Szymanski, cousin of the groom, Joe Slota, cousin of the groom, Walter Juzwiak Jr., uncle of the bride, ringer bearer was Joseph Hennessy, godchild of the bride.

The mother of the bride appeared at the wedding ceremony in coat dress of silk shantung in a gold color, trimmed in lace, with an orchid corsage. A gold pillbox with matching accessories completed her outfit.

Mrs. Arthur Szymanski, mother of the groom, wore a pale blue brocade coat dress with jeweled collar, also a corsage of orchids, and matching accessories.

At 12 o'clock a wedding breakfast was held at St. Hedwig's Quonset for the bridal party and immediate family. A dinner was served at 5 o'clock for 700 guests, and following the dinner music was played by Alvin Styczynski and his poka band from Pulaski, Wis.

The bride is a graduate of Thorp High School and Taylor County Teachers College of Medford. She was employed at the Thorp Elementary School.

The groom also graduated from Thorp High School, served in the Navy for four years, and is now a manager at Mr. Steak Restaurant in Edina, Minnesota.
