Driessen, Edward G. (10 DEC 1908 – 15 AUG 1969)

Edward G. Driessen, 60, passed away early Friday morning at the Veterans Hospital at Fort Snelling, Minn., after a lingering illness.

He was born in the town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.) on December 10, 1908, the son of Fred and Mary Driessen. In 1915 he moved with his parents to the town of Thorp. In 1942 he entered the military service until 1945, with doing overseas duties. In 1952 he and his two brothers purchased the home farm on which he since resided.

Mr. Driessen never married.

He is survived by five brothers, Fred and Charles of Thorp, Sylvester of Stanley, Phillip of Mansfield, Wash, Been of eagle Grove, Iowa, and two sisters, Mrs. Mike (Delia) Brooks of Rt. 3, Kaukauna, and Mrs. Louis (Agnes) Kirely of Stanley. Also surviving are 9 nieces and nephews and 10 great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Monday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Bernard's Church, with Father Brockman officiating, and with burial in the parish cemetery, the Legion serving as pallbearers and with military services at the cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.

Relatives and friends from out of town attending the funeral were from Eagle Grove, Iowa, Gary, Indiana, Chicago, Ill., Kaukauna, Brillion, Little Chute, Menasha, Cornell, Stanley and Thorp area.
