Cox, Cheryl L. (15 JUN 1964 – 13 FEB 2017)

Cheryl L. Cox, 52, of Stanley (Chippewa Co., Wis.), was called to her heavenly home on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Mayo Health System, Eau Claire Hospital. She was born on June 15, 1964, the daughter of Joseph and Karen (Olson) Koltis. Cheryl grew up in the Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) area and graduated from Thorp High School. She then went on to Lawrence University and graduated with a BA degree in Social Work in 1988 from Mt. Senario College in Ladysmith.

Cheryl married Michael Cox on March 23, 1983. The couple lived in Thorp and Chery ran My Home II Daycare. After that the couple moved north of Stanley and she worked at Crossroads Counseling in Stanley. Cheryl’s life was dedicated to loving her family, her animals, the outdoors, fishing, gardening, and her instrumental role in co-founding and managing Cox Family Sugarbush.

She is survived by her husband, Michael, of Stanley; her children, Joseph Cox and Katelynn Cox, both of Fargo, ND; Andrew Cox of Menomonie; her granddaughter, Cheyenne Cox; her mother, Karen J. Koltis of Thorp; her brothers, Joseph D. Koltis of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Ronald (Deb) Koltis of Thorp; and sister, Karen A. (Tom Lobacz) Koltis of Stanley. Cheryl is preceded in death by her father, Joseph A. Koltis in 2016.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 4th at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Huron.
