A family from Chicago was passing through Thorp on their way to the University at Eau Claire, stopped off at Thorp at one of the stores, and inquired who lives on the farm which they lived on about 60 years ago. They remembered the neighbors’ names and were told that the farm is now owned by Robert Zukowski, The family name is Lapczulas, so they drove out to the farm and were very happy to see the progress made, the house, barn and other buildings, remodeled. They visited for a while, went away happy and wished Robert and family success.

Mr. and Mrs. John C. Maier spent Sunday at the Frank Sonnentag home. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kowieski were evening callers there.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Benzschawel were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Bradley on Friday night.

Mrs. Hattie Dymek of Chicago, Ill., is visiting her sisters and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hoffman.

Mrs. Bertha Dudansky spent the weekend with Mrs. Paul Lebiecki and family of Lublin.

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Benzschawel of Madison and Mrs. Dolores Burkhardt visited at the Joseph Benzschawel home on Wednesday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. O’Shay and son of Chicago are spending their vacation at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gostomski.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wincek of Chippewa Falls, an 8 pound, 10 ounce daughter, Dawn Danielle, on September 5, 1969. Proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Mack Wincek and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Jaks, all of Thorp.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Possley of Whitehall spent Sunday at the homes of Mrs. Edith Possley and Mr. and Mrs. James Possley.

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Swierkowski visited with his sisters, Rose Swierkowski and Mrs. Verna Zukowski, Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. John Dulek of River Grove, Ill., and Mrs. Verna Slupski of Stanley spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs. Estelle Zukowski.

Mrs. Walter Bolliger’s father passed away Sunday, September 14th, 1969. He was dead on arrival at a Madison hospital after an apparent heart attack. Mr. and Mrs. Bolliger and operate the Cloverleaf Cheese Factory. Mrs. Bolliger is spending several days with her mother at Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin.
