Szatalowicz, Thomas P. (29 DEC 1892 – 14 SEP 1969)
Funeral services for Thomas P. Szatalowicz, 76, were held Wednesday, September
17 at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, with Father Connie Chilicki officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery (New St. Hedwig’s). Pallbearers were: Adam
Walter, Edwin G. Schmidt, Tom Polnaszek, Wm. Tobola, Cyril Alger and Stanley
Dubicki.
Mr. Szatalowicz died Monday, September 14, 1969 at St. Mary’s Hospital,
Minneapolis, Minn., of a stroke.
He was born December 29, 1892 in Lomazy, Poland and came to America and the
Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) area in 1910. He worked in lumber camps and operated a
tavern until 1923, then farmed until his retirement in 1957. He was married June
26, 1923 at St. Hedwig’s Church, Thorp.
Mr. Szatalowicz was a member of the Polish National Alliance and the Knights of
Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; five children, Dr. Marion of Stanley, Dr.
Florian, Washington, D.C., (Lorraine) Mrs. Stuart Walsdorf, Dallas, Texas,
(Clara) Mrs. Wayne Gifford, Rockford, Ill., and Theresa, Rockford, Ill., and
seven grandsons and four granddaughters.
