Strey, Laurie A. (28 FEB 1963 – 26 FEB 2017)

Laurie A. Strey, 53, Loyal, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, March 2, at the Loyal United Methodist Church in Loyal, with Rev. Patsy Roe officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Laurie Ann Ingersoll was born on Feb. 28, 1963, in Marshfield, to Harold and Kathryn (nee Klimeck) Ingersoll. She was raised and received her education in the Abbotsford area until her family moved to Stetsonville in 1980. She graduated from Medford High School in 1981. After high school, she worked as a waitress in Marshfield. She married Charles R. Strey on Jan. 14, 1984, in Las Vegas, Nev. They moved to Barstow, Calif., where her husband was stationed at Ft. Irwin in the U.S. Army. After his discharge from the service in 1985, they moved to Loyal and she resumed working as a waitress until becoming an employee at Weather Shield Mfg. in Greenwood. After health conditions forced her to leave Weather Shield, Laurie continued to work in the Loyal/Greenwood area waitressing, cooking, and bartending. Currently she was working at the Kow Kickin' Kafe, in Greenwood, and at the House of Spirits in Loyal. She had the type of laugh that was infectious and a loving sense of humor. She had many interests, but especially loved spending time with family and friends. She was an avid swimmer in her youth and enjoyed fishing until sunset. She took pleasure in playing cards and volleyball. She was an especially enthusiastic and passionate Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Chuck, of Loyal; her children: Travis (Elaine) Strey of Eagan, Minn., Stacy Strey of Loyal, Christopher Strey of Marshfield, and Kyle Strey of Loyal; five grandchildren: Kathryn Boardman, Sylas Strey, Asher White-Bergey, Grayson Strey, and Chael Strey; her mother: Kathryn Ingersoll of Abbotsford; her father: Harold Ingersoll of Owen; one sister: Karen (Wayne) Tischendorf of Ogema; four brothers: Ronald Ingersoll of Abbotsford, Daniel Ingersoll of Medford, Bradley (Kathy) Ingersoll of Stanley, and Brian (Samantha) Ingersoll of Medford; one sister-in-law: Sandra Ingersoll of Dorchester; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Galen Ingersoll.
