Barts, Duran (1960? – 25 OCT 1969)
A young Clark County, Wisconsin boy apparently hanged himself accidentally while
playing in the hayloft at his farm home Saturday afternoon.
The body of Duran Barts, nine year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Barts, rt. 1,
Curtiss, was found in the barn about 3:30 p.m. by his father and a neighbor,
Donovan Ward. Attempts by Barts to revive the boy failed.
Authorities said death was due to strangulation by accidental hanging.
They said the youngster had been playing on some hay bales and had tied a piece
of twine around a timber and then place it around his neck.
The body was taken to Polnaszek Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Besides his parents,
the boy is survived by a brother and two sisters.
