Strzok, Mr./Mrs. Andrew (Gold – 20 OCT 1969)

Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Strzok observed their golden wedding anniversary, Sunday, October 19th, 1969 at an 11 o'clock Mass at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, with Father Constance Chilicki officiating, where they were originally married October 20th, 1919, when Father J. M. Korczyk officiated. The honored couple was preceded into church by four of their original attendants, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Strzok, Thorp, Joseph Salwach, Hamnaranck (?), Michigan, and Ann Stroinski, Thorp. Katherine Price, also an original attendant, was unable to attend.

The main altar was decorated with yellow gladiolas and gold mums, with a large arrangement of gold sprayed hydrangeas placed at the front altar. The Catholic school choir sang, with Miss Carol as the organist. Polis solos, "Heart of Jesus Hear" and "Hail Mary" were sung by Steve Niechcielski, son-in-law of the honored couple.

The grandchildren participated in the offertory procession.

The anniversary dinner was held at the American Legion Hall at 1 o'clock, followed by a reception from two until six o'clock, with 160 relatives and friends attending.

The main table was decorated with a book form anniversary cake, flanked with gold candles and floral arrangement of gold and white mums. A delicious dinner was prepared and served by the ladies of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Strzok wore a white orchid corsage and her husband wore a gold rose boutonniere. They were the recipients of many beautiful gifts of money.

Presents for the occasion were their four children and their spouses; Frank Strzok, Milwaukee, Wis.; Dorothy Niechcielski, Morristown, Pennsylvania; Lucille Salwach, Marshfield, Wis.; and Edward Strzok, Palatine, Ill.; Also present were their ten grandchildren and all their brothers and sisters.

Other out of town relatives and guests present were from Butler, Pa., Chicago and Pontiac, Ill., Minneapolis, Minn., Milwaukee, Manitowoc, Eau Claire, La Crosse, Gilman, Owen, Withee and Lublin, Wis.

Mrs. Strzok was born in Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) on November 16, 1895, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Strzok. He served in World War I, and is a member of the American Legion.

His wife is the former Julia Salwach, who also was born in Thorp on June 17, 1900, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Adalbert Salwach. They have spent most of their entire life in and around the Thorp area.

They were engaged in farming for 40 years and still reside on their original homestead.

The couple both enjoy good health and Mr. Strzok enjoy fishing and hunting.
