Mroczenski, Edward T. (14 OCT 1927 - 24 FEB 2017)
Edward T. Mroczenski, 89, Athens died Friday, February 24, 2017 at St. Clare's
Hospital, Weston.
He was born October 14, 1927 in the town of Rietbrock, son of the late Walter
and Mary (Socha) Mroczenski. On September 16, 1950 he married Jacqueline
Jagodzinski at Holy Family Catholic Church, town of Rietbrock. She preceded him
in death on October 6, 2007.
Ed was a dairy farmer in the town of Rietbrock. Some of his favorite pastimes
included fishing, taking an occasional trip to the casino, playing cards,
especially Sheepshead, listening to polka music and watching WWF wrestling on
the TV. Ed truly cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his
grandchildren. A famous saying of Ed's was "Children are the best part of life."
Ed proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1946 until
1948.
Survivors include his nine children, Carol (Lynn Henrich) Mroczenski, Wausau,
Colleen (Larry) Smith, Amherst, Jerome "Jerry" (Linda) Mroczenski, Edgar, Ron
(Clarice) Mroczenski, Wausau, Geralyn Schug, Edgar, Norma (John) Borowicz,
Wausau, Brian "Mert" (Laurie) Mroczenski, Edgar, Mark (Dawn) Mroczenski, Athens
and Mary (Tom) Pliska, Scandinavia, 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren,
two sisters, Adeline Houf, Wausau and Theresa (Don) Torner, Cudahy, one
sister-in-law, Patsy Mroczenski, Wausau and many nieces, nephews and other
relatives.
Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis
and Florian Mroczenski and four sisters, infant Leona Mroczenski, Lucy Matysik,
Mary Ann Westphal and Clara Wirkus.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 1, 2017 at
Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. The Rev. Thomas Huff will preside.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m.
until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish rosary service
at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Edgar funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Holy Family Catholic Church,
Poniatowski or a charity of your choice.
