Kessenich, Emma (15 Nov 1882 – 29 NOV 1969)
Emma Kessenich, 87, a resident of route 1, Stanley (Chippewa Co., Wis.), died at
Victory Memorial Hospital Thursday afternoon, November 24, 1969.
She was born November 15, 1882 in Germany, the daughter of William and Christine
Lakowski. She came to the United States and La cross when two years old. She
later moved to Minnesota and married Andrew Vanderhoff. After they had lived
there a few years, they moved to Michigan and later to the town of Worden (Clark
Co., Wis.). Mr. Vanderhoff died in 1935. She then moved to the Town of Wilson,
Eau Claire County in 1945. On October 1, 1955 she was married to Peter
Kessenich. He died in 1966.
Mrs. Kessenich is survived by one son, Ernest Vanderhoff of Clemco, Utah. She
was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, four sisters.
Funeral services were held at St. Peter's Catholic Church at Wilson on Monday at
10 a.m. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery, Stanley.
