Barbara Stanula, the daughter of Mrs. Gertrude Stanula of Thorp (Clark Co.,
Wis.), is the local winner of the Daughters of the American Revolution Good
Citizen Contest.
To be considered, a girl must have the following qualifications to an
outstanding degree: dependability, Which takes in truthfulness, loyalty, and
punctuality; service, under which comes cooperation, courtesy, and consideration
of others; leadership, in personality, self-control and assumption of
responsibility; and patriotism, which includes interest in family, school,
community and nation.
The name of the local DAR winner, along with a questionnaire that she must
answer, is sent to the State Chairman of the DAR. Good Citizens to compete in
the state.
