Mohr, Marvin Edgar (30 January 1948 – 7 March 2017) With Flag
Marvin Mohr, age 69, of Neillsville, Wi died Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at St.
Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
Marvin Edgar Mohr was born on January 30, 1948, in Neillsville, the son of
Albert H. and Luella M. (Kopp) Mohr. He attended Silver Crest grade school and
graduated from Neillsville High School in 1967 and then went to work at the Kurt
Marg rendering farm. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1968 and
spent 11 months in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. His active duty ended in
1970. He then served in the Army Reserve until 1974, when he was honorably
discharged. When he returned home from serving his country he again went to work
at Kurt Marg’s. Later that year he was united in marriage to Patricia A. Perrine
on September 19, 1970, in Neillsville. After leaving Kurt Marg’s he went to work
at the Neillsville Foundry before beginning his career at Nelson Muffler. He
spent 38 years at the muffler factory, most of which was spent in the tube
bending department, before retiring in 2010. In retirement, Marv, didn’t sit
still long. He went to work at the Sam Mathis farm.
Marvin was a member of the Haugen-Richmond American Legion Post #73 and the
Wilson-Heintz VFW Post #2241 in Neillsville. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed
being outside, bow-hunting, making wood and having nearly daily campfires in his
backyard. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his two children Tracey (Albert) Havlik and their children
Cody and Dylan, of Granton, and Scott (Nicole) Mohr and their children Ashton
and Amanda, of Edgar. He is also survived by eight siblings, Dolores Kenyon of
