Peterson, Gail (7 April 1952 – 8 March 2017)
Gail Peterson, 64, of Neillsville died Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at the Memorial
Medical Center in Neillsville.
Gail Edwards was born April 7, 1952, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of John Wesley
and Beryl (Dean) Edwards. She attended school in Higgins Lake, MI. She moved to
Neillsville in 1980 and worked at Geo Sportswear and Anywear Apparel. She was
united in marriage to Wallace “Pete” Peterson May 11, 1981, in Neillsville. Gail
worked as a housewife before beginning her career at Abby Vans, where she first
cleaned vans, and later became a secretary. She retired from Abby Vans and
opened Gail’s Handmade, which featured her sewing, quilts, handbags, tote bags,
and embroidered decorative towels, among others.
In her younger years, Gail was involved in 4-H. Her hobbies included sewing,
bingo, making, and decorating cakes for others, and fishing. Her greatest joy,
however, was her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Wallace “Pete” Peterson; six children, Julie
(Charlie) Cooper of Neillsville, and their children, Chad, Mandy, Kandice and
Sean; Robin Peterson of California and her children, Robin, Devon, Amber, Glenn
and Brandon; James (Dana) King of Green Bary, and their children, Justin, John,
Sarah, and Eli; Dan Peterson of Wisconsin and his son, Blake; Deb Boucher of
Neillsville and her children, Jared and Connor; and Beryl Peterson of
Neillsville. Gail is further survived by three siblings Brian (Linda) Edwards of
Falmouth, MI, John (Jo) Edwards of Mio, MI, and Suzan (Paul) Lockwood of
Houghton Lake, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, Virgil Sowles.
Gail’s family will greet relatives and friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday,
March 16, 2017, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville.
