Mary Marlene Wuerzberger was born Sept. 2, 1935, in Dubuque, IA. Her parents were Henry and Ruth (Kohler) Wulff. Mary graduated from Charles City High School in Charles City, IA, in 1954. Mary had a deep love and passion for music. She began playing the piano at the age of five and took lessons for nine years and lessons on the organ for eight more years. Over the years, she has played in many of the area churches and for the past several years at the nursing home every Tuesday for the residents. She also played at the Bible Baptist Church in Neillsville for Sunday services.

Along with music, Mary also enjoyed going to dances, and she loved to polka. She loved crafting, and she enjoyed getting together for coffee with her friends, both at the Loyal restaurant and Hardees in Neillsville.

Mary is survived by her three children Eileen (Jim) Shephard of California, Susan (Michael) Leslie of Neillsville, and Larry Shephard of Prentice; 10 grandchildren, Joseph Spanjer of Boyd, Fredrick Spanjer of Thorp, Ruth Spanjer of Neillsville, Justin Spanjer of Medford, Maria Barney-Spanjer of FL, Amy Leslie, Katherine (Ken) Simons, Michcal Mech, Holly Leslie, and Dakota Leslie, all of Charles City, IA; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother Charles Wulff.
