Bablick, Charles W. (11 JAN 1925 - 14 MAR 2017)
Charles W. Bablick, age 92, of Park Falls, died on Tuesday March 14, 2017 at
Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls.
He was born on January 11, 1925 in Butternut, the son of George and Anna (Palecek)
Bablick. He was a graduate of the Butternut High School. Charlie moved to
Menomonie and worked for the Firestone Tire Store.
On August 27, 1946 he married his wife of fifty-three years, Genevieve Koran.
The couple then moved to Stanley where he worked for the Firestone Tire Store.
They moved back to Butternut in 1949 and Charlie then worked for Vincent &
Vincent Ford in Park Falls and then the Flambeau Paper Mill as a production
manager until he retired in 1988. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing,
baseball, softball, wood working, gardening, playing cards, and carpentry.
Charlie loved spending time with family & friends and traveling. He also enjoyed
watching his children and grandchildren in sporting events. He served as a Mass
Server, Eucharistic Minister, was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree
Knight. He donated his time for decades decorating St. Anthony’s Catholic Church
for the Christmas season. On September 1, 2001 he married Arlene Zimpel at Pier
Willow Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife Arlene of Park Falls; children Deacon David (Ginny)
Bablick of Tomahawk; Dennis (Luann) Bablick of Butternut; Mary (Jerry) Sarver of
Medford; eight grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; one
great-great-grandson; three step-children, Sharon (Mike) Ferge of Fond du Lac;
Diana (Bill) Hede of Tacoma, WA; Debra (Joe) Cali of Waukesha; seven
step-grandchildren, thirteen step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews,
and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Genny in 2000; two
great-granddaughters, one step-grandson, and two brothers, George and John
Bablick.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 18, 2017 at 11:00am from St.
Anthony’s Catholic Church in Park Falls. Fr. Shaji Pazhukkathara, Dea. David
Bablick, and Deacon Chet Ball will co-officiate. Burial will follow at Nola
Cemetery in Park Falls.
A visitation will be held on Friday March 17, 2017 at the Novitzke Funeral Home
in Park Falls from 4:00pm until 7:00pm with a Parish Prayer Vigil at 7:00pm and
on Saturday at the church from 10:00am until the hour of the service.
