The Loyal Rural Fire Department was called to the Mrs. Margaret Wolfe home in
the Town of Beaver (Clark Co., Wis.0 Sunday afternoon to fight a fire which
destroyed her home. The fire had gained headway before firemen arrived and had
already cause a great deal of damage to the walls, floors and roof of the
two-story house. Efforts of the firemen were successful, however, in containing
the fire long enough so firemen and volunteer help could remove the furniture,
household and personal effects from the burning house.
Firemen then turned their efforts toward saving the barn, which laid in a direct
line with an east wind blowing. Firemen stayed on the scene until early evening
watching the fire.
