Gaffney, Gary R. (28 MAY 1944 - 8 JUL 2010)
Gary R. Gaffney, 66, of W4843 N Musser Lane, Phillips, passed away on Thursday,
July 8 at Flambeau Hospital, Park Falls where he was a patient for the past ½
day.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 12 at Our Saviours
Lutheran Church, township of Holway, with Pastor Kris Bjerke-Ulliman
officiating. Interment will be at Our Saviours Lutheran Church cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers are Mike Joyce, “Pete” Peterson, Larry Boushon; active
pallbearers are Jim Janacek, Dick Simonson, Dave Willman, Charlie Reigel, Pete
Korpowski, Don Hanson.
Visitation will be at the Hemer Funeral Home, Medford from 4-8 PM Sunday, July
11and also at church 10 AM until time of funeral services at 11 AM on Monday,
July 12.
Gary was born on May 28, 1944, at Marshfield, WI, to Arthur and Doris (Koepke)
Gaffney. He attended Marshfield area schools, and Marshfield High School. His
first marriage in 1967 was to
Patti Ames and they were later divorced. His second marriage was on February 3,
1990, at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, Town of Holway, to Debra Hanson, and she
survives.
After his education he worked for Kohler Co. in Sheboygan for a period of time.
Then he worked at Marshfield Water & Light for a period of time. Then he moved
to Tulsa, OK where he attended welding school and later taught at that same
school. Returned to Marshfield Water & Light where he worked as a boiler
operator until 1990. Then he worked at Central Burner & Boiler in Marshfield for
a period of time. Then he drove truck for Roehl & Silver Cote both of
Marshfield. Moved to Phillips in 1999 and worked at Weather Shield in Park Falls
until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and his grandchildren. He
was a member of the Musser Lake Association, Phillips; and a Past Teamsters
Union member.
Gary is survived by his wife, Debra Gaffney of Phillips; children Shawn Gaffney
of Marshfield;
Step-Son: Joshua Brill of Milwaukee; Step-Grandchildren: Alaina & Ava Brill of
Spencer; siblings Jim Gaffney of Marshfield; Judy (Bob “Pete”) Peterson of
Sheboygan; Sharon (Larry) Boushon of New Mexico; Sandy Holroyd of Marshfield;
Kathy (Mike) Joyce of Marshfield.
He is predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Doris (Koepke) Gaffney.
