Francis "Frank" A. Pries, 71, of Owen passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 23, 2017 in Palliative Care at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield surrounded by his loving family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen.

Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Sunday, March 26 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM and from 10:00 AM until time of service Monday at the church.

Francis "Frank" A. Pries, age 71, of Owen passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 23, 2017 in Palliative Care at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield surrounded by his loving family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen. Father Janusz Kowalski will officiate.

Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 26 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.

A Celebration of Life will also be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 1 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Byron, MN.

Frank was born on May 3, 1945 the son of Wilbur and Lorraine (Nigon) Pries in Rochester, MN. He graduated from Byron High School in 1963. Frank was united in marriage to Susan Halloran on April 26, 1969 in Chatfield, MN.

Frank worked as a carpenter for Pries Brothers Construction from 1970-81. He moved to Owen and bought a dairy farm. Frank also worked as a livestock field representative for National Farmers Organization for 32 years, retiring in 2016.

He served on many boards and committees including NAFCOR, National Farmers Organization and the Byron Fire Department. Frank had a strong faith and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was an avid hunter and especially enjoyed fishing with his children and grandchildren. Frank most importantly cherished his family and loved attending their sporting events.

Frank is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sue; four children: Mark (Terry) of Withee, Becky (Jim) Albrecht of WI Rapids, Pam of Albertville, MN and Jill (Gene) Derfus of Greenwood; six grandchildren: Cody Albrecht, Nick, Zack, Brandon, Brady and Christa Derfus; five step-grandchildren: Justin, Hayley, Jim, Sara and Lindsay (Andrew); three step-great-grandchildren.

He is further survived by five brothers and one sister: Jerry (Sharon), Jim (Sue), Joe (Shari), Dan (Becky) all of Byron, MN, Tom (Jeanette) of Eyota, MN and Mary (Bruce) Clement of Rochester, MN; two sisters-in-law: Teresa (Dean) Narveson of Chatfield, MN and Mary Halloran of Peoria, IL; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Pries family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center, DaVita Dialysis of Marshfield and Palliative care at St. Joseph's Hospital.
