Ellis, Apolonia (6 JUN 1896 – 26 MAR 1972)
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 29, 1972 for Mrs. Apolonia Ellis,
75, Abbotsford, who died Sunday. The 10 a.m. service was held at Christ the King
Catholic Church in Spencer. Burial was made in the West Spencer Cemetery, with
Rev. Andrew Bofenkamp officiating. The Jasperson Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements.
Apolonia Bach was born June 6, 1896, in Marathon (Marathon Co, Wis.). Her first
marriage took place on January 7, 1915 to William Willner in Edgar. He died in
1965. Her marriage to Harold Ellis took place on August 10, 1968, in Spencer.
Mrs. Ellis was a member of the Royal Neighbors, Marathon-Clark Homemakers, the
Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Abbotsford, and Spencer Senior Citizens, and
the Christian Mothers Society of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Abbotsford.
She and her husband have resided in Abbotsford for the past five years.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Earl (Caroline) Koehler,
Edgar; and Mrs. James (Jeannette) Werner, Wisconsin Dells; five sons, Lester,
Colby' Bernard, Carpentersville, Illinois; Willard, Shawano; Reinhold,
Janesville; and Emory, Chicago, Illinois; 26 grandchildren; 10
great-grandchildren; and a brother, Leo Bach, Sheridan, Wyoming.
