Schlais, Harold R. (22 JAN 1924 - 29 MAR 2017)
Harold R. Schlais, 93, of Medford passed away on Wednesday, March 29 in
Abbotsford.
Harold was born on January 22, 1924 to Lawrence Sr. and Ella Schlais in Medford.
He attended Gad School in the Town of Bern and Medford High School.
After his education he tended bar at the Schlais Bar in the Town of Gad and then
drove school bus for 10 years. Harold went on to own and operate Harold’s Bar in
downtown Medford for 20 years. After selling the bar he went on to work at
Weather Shield Mfg. as a maintenance man for 8 years until 2007.
Harold is survived by his sister, Marvel Jean (Merlin) Kobs of Spencer; brother,
Galen (Grace) Schlais of Medford; sister-in-law, Margaret Schlais of Wausau, and
many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Harold is preceded in death by his sister, Patricia
Schlais; two brothers, Glendon Schlais and Lawrence Schlais, Jr., and
sister-in-law Betty Schlais.
A memorial service for Harold will be held on Saturday, April 8 at 11:00 AM at
Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church with Pastor James Krueger officiating. Burial will
be held at a later date.
Visitation will take place at the church on Saturday April 8 from 9:00 AM until
the time of service at 11:00 AM.
