Schmitt, Linda (Paul) (27 FEB 1951 - 24 MAR 2017)

Linda Schmitt, 66, Rib Mountain, died Friday, March 24, 2017 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

She was born February 27, 1951 in Medford, daughter of Alice (Woempner) Paul and the late Wilmer Paul. On August 13, 1988 she married Gene Schmitt at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. He survives.

After graduating from Michigan Technical University Linda went to work at LignoTech USA as a senior research scientist and thrived at figuring out solutions in the lab to help customers. She enjoyed traveling for work and also for leisure with her husband, Gene. Linda was very athletic and enjoyed skiing, riding bike, playing softball and racquetball, bowling and reading. Linda was a kind and gentle person.

Survivors include her husband, Gene; mother, Alice Paul; brother, Keith (Judy) Paul; nephews and niece, Nathan (Elisa) Paul, Justin (Nicole) Paul and Ashley (Kevin) Karbowski; step-son, Kirk (Gigi) Schmitt.

She was preceded in death by her father and her son Jason.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Gary Schultz will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Wisconsin.
