Miss J. Kay Strey, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Strey, was married April 29, 1972 at Marshfield. Relatives and friends from the area attended.

Mr. and Mrs. Roland Jakobi and family and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Burkey and Linda attended the wedding also. Mrs. Jakobi made the beautiful tiered wedding cake.

The Women's Civic Club of Granton held their semi-annual banquet at the Arbutus in Neillsville on Monday evening, May 1. Mrs. Mabel Kallis, president, was Mistress of ceremonies. Two original poems were read by Helen Gierok. Mrs. Eugene (Karen) Trimberger presented a slide lecture and told about their year spent in Fairbanks, Alaska. She also displayed several articles made by the native Alaskans.

Mrs. Frederick (Christine) Elmhorst has finished the Cancer Crusade. She is Chairman of the town of York.

Mr. and Mrs. Merle Bartsch hosted a party on Saturday evening, April 29. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Zaleski, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dachel, and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Steiner.

Many from the area attended the meetings at the Chili United Methodist Church to hear Rev. Ford, Evangelist, singer and artist give his message.
