Geisking, Jerry (17 MAY 1941 - 2 APR 2017)
Jerry Geisking, age 75 of Dodgeville, passed away unexpectedly on April 2, 2017,
in the comfort of his home.
He was born on May 17, 1941, to Harry and Lena Geisking in south central
Indiana. He grew up there learning to appreciate hard work and dedication. Jerry
later married the love of his life, Christie (Beckner) Geisking on June 23,
1961, and continued to enjoy 55 years of marriage.
Jerry’s true passion was dairy farming. He began his farming career in Indiana,
where all but one of his children were born. In 1969, he and Christie moved to
Wisconsin to start their own dairy farm where they went on to raise their
family. He loved his cows and owned a registered Holstein herd throughout most
of his farming career. Jerry was also very passionate about his tractors. The
sound of an old 2-cylinder running was music to his ears. Anyone who met Jerry
knew that he bled John Deere green and yellow, and even after he retired from
farming he built a shed just so he could keep his three favorite tractors.
While farming was Jerry’s passion, his true love was his family. He held a
special place in his heart for each one of his many children and grandchildren.
He was well-known to supply regular tractor rides for his grandkids and
“special” rides at weddings. He enjoyed fishing trips, vacations and laughing
with everyone at family gatherings. He and Christie had a special relationship
that set a wonderful example for all his children.
Jerry never knew a stranger. Any time a friend or neighbor needed him, he would
always arrive with a smile on his face, eager to do anything he could to help a
friend in need. Whether he was needed for only a few minutes, or as long as a
few hours, he always stayed until the job was done. He will be greatly missed by
all who knew him and his spirit will remain forever in our hearts.
He is survived by his wife, Christie; children, Jim Geisking of Monroe, Thomas
(Lucy) Geisking of Abbotsford, Tim Geisking (twin of Thomas) of Gratiot, Lori
(Tom) Heindl of New Lisbon and Roger (Jessy) Geisking of Dodgeville; siblings,
Harry (Pam) Geisking, Audrey (Bill) Griffith, Walter Geisking and Richard
(Peggy) Geisking; nine grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Lena Geisking, and sisters,
Ruth Mitchell and Betty Geisking.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017, at the

Side Cemetery in Dodgeville.
