Stigen, Dorothy Marie Louise (5 May 1929 – 4 April 2017)
Dorothy Marie Louise Stigen (nee Fleck) passed away peacefully to join her
daughters in heaven Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Care & Rehab-Neillsville. Dorothy
was born May 5, 1929, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Frank and Agnes Fleck.
She was the beloved wife of Argil “Al” Stigen of Westby, married Nov. 27, 1948,
at St. Matthias Church in Chicago. Dorothy and Al were longtime residents of
Rosholt until their decision to relocate near family in Neillsville.
She will be greatly missed by her family and is survived by her husband, Al; her
son-in-law, James Bielmeier; her grandchildren, Robert (Lori) Kallio, Regina
(Jason)) Maline, Kirk (Julie) Kallio, Timothy (Chelsey) Paschall, Kristine
(Albert) Gilliard, and Matthew (Wynter) Kaminski; great-grandchildren, Sara
Kallio, Michael Kallio, Alexander Kallio, Victoria (Nathan) Crabb, Rebecca
(Ethan) Mules, Elijah Kallio, Knox Corbin, Houston Paschall, Justin Gilliard,
Alexis Gilliard, Remington Kaminski, Joseph Maline, and Nicolas Maline;
great-great-grandchildren, Aiden, Grayson, and Lincoln Crabb; and, her brother,
Harold (Vernabelle) Fleck.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughters, Ellen Stigen, Catherine
Bielmeier, and Gail Paschall.
Dorothy’s family wishes to express thanks to the employees of Western Wisconsin
Cares, Black River Memorial Hospice, and Neillsville Care & Rehab for their
care, and companionship during the last years of her life.
Dorothy requested donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital,
as she was a lifelong supporter of their work in helping children with cancer
and other life-threatening diseases.
Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017,
at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor Douglas Bjerke will officiate.
Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10
a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
