Bruss, Frank (5 JAN 1887 – 13 MAY 1972)
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran Church of
North Spencer for Frank Bruss, 85, of Spencer, who died Saturday evening at the
Marathon County Health Center at Wausau.
The Rev. David Ault, pastor, officiated, and burial was made in the church
cemetery. Pallbearers were Elmer Bruss, Willard Bruss, Rueben Frank, Lester
Frank, Elmer Georges, and Joe Sommerholder. The congregation sang "Rock of Ages"
and "What a Friend We have in Jesus." Miss Marsha Lynn was the organist.
Frank Bruss was born January 5, 1887 in the town of Brighton (Marathon Co.,
Wis.), and received his education in Spencer area schools. He was married to
Bertha Frank, who survives, on November 17, 1915, at North Spencer. The couple
resided on a farm northeast of Spencer until 1964, when they moved into the
village.
Mr. Bruss had been treasurer for the Harding School for several years, was a
member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and had served on the church council for
many years.
