Mravik, Dawn (Powers) (1935? - 6 APR 2017)

Dawn Mravik went to be with our Lord a few hours shy of her 82 birthday on April 6, 2017.

Dawn was born in the Town of Pershing to Flossie Mae (Drought) and Reuben Lester Powers.

She attended the Donald grade school, first through eighth grade. From there she graduated from Gilman High School in 1953. In high school, she met her high school sweetheart, Emil Mravik, her future husband. They married on May 30, 1953 in Gilman at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She converted to Catholicism in May of 1953. In their 63 ¾ years of marriage they were blessed with seven children. She was always supportive of Emil in all that he did.

She is survived by her husband, Emil, of 63 ¾ years; children, Eugene (Barb) Mravik of Portage, Darla Mravik of Ripon, Audrey (Carines) Duke of Mesa, Ariz., Laura (Byron) Kershaw of Pardeeville, Melvin (Kim) Mravik of Portage, Reuben (Sue) Mravik of Holmen and Sarah (Brad) Millard of Pardeeville; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Flossie Powers; brothers, William and Reuben Powers and four sisters, Phyllis Clausen, Florence Moe, Norma Ripke and Helen Martin.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 11 at 11 a.m. in the St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portage.

Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Portage.

The family would like to thank our extended family at the Columbia County Health Care Center and the Agrace Hospice staff for all of their care for our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Memorials can be made to the Columbia Health Care Center or the charity of your choice.

Kratz Funeral Home of Portage is assisting the family with arrangements.
