Nikkila, Marlene Mae (Schneiderwent) (4 FEB 1957 - 8 APR 2017)
Marlene Mae Nikkila, 60, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017 after a
courageous year and a half battle with lung cancer.
Marlene was born in Ladysmith on Feb. 4, 1957 to Lovern and Mildred
Schneiderwent of Ladysmith. She attended and graduated from Ladysmith High
School in 1975. She worked at Jeld-Wen for 28 years, where she met her husband.
On June 25, 1988 Marlene married Michael Nikkila and they were married for 29
wonderful years.
Marlene enjoyed deer hunting, bear hunting with hounds, fishing, canoeing,
camping and spending time with her friends and family at Fireside.
Marlene is survived by her husband Mike; her daughters, Melissa (Brad) Dragovich
of Phillips and Stacey Silvernale of Gilman; seven grandchildren, Anna, Adam,
Daniel, Austin, Dillon, Sage and Landon. She is further survived by her silbings,
Susan (Norm) Peters of Cornell, Judy (Melvin) Bruce of Ladysmith, Robert
Schneiderwent of Brillion and Dennis Schneiderwent of Superior; sister and
brother-in-laws, Larry Martin of Sheboygan, Roman and Joyce Kraemer of
Whittlesey, Rosie Schneiderwent of Chilton, Karen Schneiderwent of Ladysmith and
Gladys Bergman of Ogema; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Laurel "Laurie"
Martin, Edward Schneiderwent, Wilford "Bill" Schneiderwent, Irving Schneiderwent
and Barry Schneiderwent.
Per Marlene's wishes, there will be a private family memorial at a later date.
Nash-Jackan Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
We would like to take the time to thank everyone, family, friends, co-workers,
oncology team and Hope Hospice for all of their love and support throughout
Marlene's battle.
